#repost @sarariethphotography ・・・ Chivalry is not dead. Let's talk about this day and age for a moment. I did a styled shoot awhile back with a car and one of the vendors suggested I have the bride in the driver's seat and the groom in the passenger. Now, if anyone knows me in the slightest, you know exactly what was crossing through my mind at that moment. That is not my style. Why? That's not romantic. That's not prince charming taking care of his princess. That's not chivalrous and that's not what photography is to me. You see, I think there is a push to make men feel that we don't need them. We are strong, independent women and it is amazing that we are making our marks on the world. But ladies, men are designed to take care of us. They are the protectors and it is ok for us strong and independent women to let our guard down every once in awhile and allow our men's instincts to shine through. He should walk on the outside of the sidewalk. He should offer his hand to help you down the stairs. He should open the door for you or offer to carry your purse. He is not suggesting you cannot do it alone. It's his way of showing you that he respects you. He thinks highly of you. You're not just one of his buds that he couldn't care less about hurting their feelings. It's the small things he does to show you that he honors you and loves you. We get so wrapped up in this culture of I can do it all by myself but even if we can, should we? Husband and wives are a team and there isn't an I in team. ❤️ Happy Sunday, beautifuls!
